To Our Valued Guests, Friends, and Community,
We want to share an important update regarding our river tubing and kayaking experiences in Western North Carolina. Due to extensive storm damage to our property, home, and the surrounding area, we’ve made the difficult decision to pause all river activities for the 2025 season.
While clean-up and rebuilding are underway, there is still a long road ahead. The North Toe River, nearby roads, and essential infrastructure in Toecane and Loafers Glory are not yet ready to support safe and enjoyable river outings. Ongoing construction, heavy equipment traffic, and debris removal efforts have created conditions that fall short of the peaceful and scenic river experience our guests know and love.
Safety remains our top priority—for you, our staff, and our neighbors. We believe our community needs a little more time to heal and recover fully. We’re incredibly grateful for your continued patience, kindness, and support during this time.
That said, we remain hopeful. If river conditions improve significantly, and local infrastructure projects (like the railroad and road repairs) stay ahead of schedule, we may be able to offer limited tubing or kayaking trips later this season. We’re monitoring everything closely and will update this page and our official website if anything changes. Fingers crossed for a best-case scenario!

We’re also thrilled to support local artists! Join us during the June TRAC Studio Tour, where we’ll be hosting talented artists from Toecane, Bakersville, and Mitchell County.
