New to river tubing?
First-Time Tubing Guide
Tubing the North Toe River is an easygoing way to spend a summer day in the mountains. If this is your first float, a few simple expectations will make the trip easier to plan and more enjoyable.

1. Expect to get wet
Wear quick-drying clothing or swimwear and secure footwear that can handle water and uneven river access. Avoid bringing anything onto the river that you cannot afford to lose or get wet.
2. The river sets the pace
The North Toe is a natural mountain river, not an amusement-park ride. Rainfall and seasonal flow affect depth, speed and trip duration. A float that takes about 2½ hours under one set of conditions may feel different under another.
3. Protect yourself from the sun
Mountain weather can still mean strong summer sun. Use sunscreen, drink water and plan for changing weather during the day.
4. Follow outfitter instructions
Arrival procedures, waivers, river guidance and shuttle instructions are there to keep the trip organized. Listen to the current trip briefing rather than relying only on what someone experienced on a previous visit.
5. Ask questions before arrival
If you are planning for young children, a large group, uncertain weather or someone with special trip concerns, contact Loafers Glory before you travel. It is much easier to answer those questions before your group reaches the river.
